2023 Film Festival Information & Registry

The film festival is back for another year of creativity and self-expression! With over 40 films a year, who knows what could appear this year. Upon entering, there are rules and regulations that must be followed along with some information regarding registering and a basic understanding of what can and cannot be done within student films. 

Below are the Rules & Regulations-

  • Create a short student film between 4-8 minutes long, credits must be included 
  • Online Registration cannot be accepted no longer than March 7th, 2023. However, The Final Submission for films is March 10th, 2023 
  • The film must be school appropriate (PG-PG13). For example, graphic violence, sexually inappropriate scenes, or glorification of alcohol, vaping, tobacco, or drug use will not be tolerated and may cause the film to be disqualified. 
  • The films crew including costume designer, sound designer, screenwriter, camera person, and editor should all be Wesley Chapel High School students. Parents, older/younger siblings, and friends from other schools can be in the film, but only as extras. All work must be done by the crew itself.
  • Make sure all of the students appearing in the film has the Parents’ Bill of Rights permission signed.

Tickets-

  • Tickets for the showings are $3.00 per audience members with all proceeds going to the WCHS Drama Department, However film groups nominated for “Best Picture” will receive 5 free tickets to attend the show. All students nominated for individual awards will receive 1 free ticket to attend each showing.

  • Writing Quality 25%
  • Acting Quality 25%
  • Creativity & Originality 20% 
  • Technical Quality 20%
  • Audience Reaction 10%
