Holidays In New York

Holidays+In+New+York

Fall in New York

In New York the fall holidays are very important because of the things they do in the “Empire State” with the events going on it attracts a lot of people from all over the world. They do a lot of things like parades, ice skating, special meals, wonderlands, and other types of holiday events. New York in the Thanksgiving break brings in a lot of people because, school is off and all kids either come to see their family or to see their kids or even being in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. For the biggest parks there are Bryant Park, Central Park, and union park.

To start off, the Macy’s thanksgiving parade is the biggest thing on thanksgiving, others than the meal of course. The Macys parade is where Macy’s picks different schools, or bands to come and walk along a 2-mile route and play music, but that’s not all. They also get a lot of popular celebrities to go on floats for the parade, they also use popular TV shows and make floats with main characters and volunteers hold strings and walk the huge floats down the routes from 9am-11am, it brings all joy to families and people because it’s a way of celebration and bringing people together.

Another big thing is, the parks with a lot to come with it, in Bryant Park in Time Square, Central Park in New York City, Union Square In Rose Hill, and Madison Square park in Manhattan. In Bryant Park they offer things like mini gift shops for Christmas, Ice skating, and food pop-up type shops. They also have their very famous hot apple cider and hot chocolate, there is a lot of shops designated to those items specifically. In Central Park they have things like their original walking trail for the public, they also offer horse carriage rides around the park or that part of the city, they obviously have the fun winter activities like snowboarding and ice skating also. Union Square offers a lot of similar things to Bryant Park like the pop-up shops for smaller businesses looking to get there products out there, Union Square is a little smaller then Bryant Park so there’s a little less but its still a very fun place to see and go to.

So in all New York is a very fun place to go to whether it be in the winter or the fall because they kind of combine the two together. They keep most things open unless its Christmas or Thanksgiving related things until February because its still cold in New York. But in all New York should be a place you want to visit during this time because of all the nice fun things you can do with your family.
