Introducing Our New Head Football Coach, Lawrence “LC” Coleman

Coach Coleman was born in Warren, Ohio where he played many sports like basketball, football, and ran track. Coach LC had multiple scholarship offers to play football in college, but he couldn’t take them because he had an injury in his senior year of high school. Coach ended up going to a prep school and played 2 years of junior college football, after that he went to the university of Tennessee for 1 year. Coach LC had several professional opportunities available to him. After pursing his professional football career, a friend asked him to help coach at Countryside High School near Clearwater. Coach LC said “it was one of the best decisions he has made!”

Coach stated that “he loves giving back to the youth and teaching, and connections with the students and has been teaching for 10 years now.” Coach found out that he wanted to become a football coach in his sophomore year of high school. His experience so far as a coach at Wesley Chapel has been awesome so far, since day 1 the faculty and the community has been welcoming with open arms. He says that they haven’t gotten the wins that he has expected but “The wins will come”.

“I like how the team is connected and they have good communication, and everyone likes each other, and they can joke around and talk to one another.” Coach’s goal for the team this year is to win. The players they come out here everyday and work as hard as they can to get better. Coach LC also wants to his players to graduate and get the ones that seriously want to play college Football to play in college at some level.

This shows how much Coach Coleman cares about what he does. Coach wants the team to succeed this year and have a good season. Coach LC enjoys what he does for his job and he is happy that he made the decision to teach young people how to play Football. Coach wants his players to achieve whatever they want to get out of playing the sport of football. We welcome Coach LC to the Wesley Chapel High School family!
