An Interview With Our Principal

2024! Whether this is your last year or first, this school year has many new things coming up and is going quickly. Who else is better to ask about the new school year than the principal himself?

First question: “Is there any big plans for the 24-school year?”
Reply : “Hopefully the new cellphone policy is permanent. We brought some new math classes too. Math for data financial literacy, and all freshmen must take personal finance this year.”

Second question: “Any big events coming up?”
Reply : “Homecoming and the pep rally are coming up in early October, kids need to read our newsletter, so they know about all these events.” I have linked the newsletter below.

Third question: “How good have the students been since school started?”
Reply : “Pretty good! Our biggest issue is tardies. You have 5 minutes to get to class, most students get in trouble because they are late to class.”

Fourth question: “What’s the biggest challenge overall?”
Reply : “Biggest challenge overall is to get students focused on their academics. Kids should have fun in high school but not lose focus of their future goals, so we push them to try and stay focused on their goals and meet them.”

Fifth question:: “A message for the entire student body?”
Reply : “Stay on track, do what you need to do to graduate and be successful!”

Finally, I would like to thank our principal Mr. McDermott for taking the time to do this interview with me!
